Home Clubs Club News Boyne Valley Shorthorn Club

A meeting was held on Sunday 22nd October 2006 at Bloomfiled House Hotel, Mullingar at which a group of breeders from the North Leinster area, covering counties Cavan, Monaghan, Louth, Meath, Westmeath, Longford, Kildare and Offaly came together to form a new Shorthorn Breeders Club.

Society President Paddy O’Callaghan, attended to lend a helping hand and give advice and guidance where needed. He explained that the Society would encourage and support Club in the area as it was important for a structure to be in place where breeders could meet, share views, organise local events for the breed, put forward suggestions and keep in touch with the activities of the Society. On this basis the people present agreed that the Club should be formed and be known as The Boyne Valley Shorthorn Club.

Cyril Dunne from Ballinacor, Devlin, Co. Westmeath was proposed and seconded and duly elected first chairman.Secretary/Treasurer to be appointed at the first offical meeting of the club itself.

We all join together in wishing the Club all the best for the future.
